Carol Schneider's Biography
Mrs. Schneider began studying music in elementary school. During her early years in Denver, CO, she started lessons on piano. After a short period of time she transferred to flute, and then shifted to bassoon. The bassoon fit her outgoing and playful nature, and also earned her a music scholarship to the University of Northern Colorado, located in Greeley. While studying for her Bachelor of Music Education, she played bassoon in the Greeley Philharmonic and the Cheyenne Symphony. Although the bassoon was her primary instrument she also studied the piano for her degree program.

With her music degree complete, she spent her early career teaching band, orchestra and general music in several different school districts in Colorado, including the Cherry Creek School District in the Denver metro area.

After teaching music in the public school system for four years, she and her husband Randy decided to start a family. To allow her to commit time to her three children, she put her music teaching on hold.

Once her children reached school age, the desire returned to teach music. Carol was introduced to the Kindermusik and Suzuki programs by a friend and was so excited about how music could enhance brain development that she went on to receive her training in both programs.

Her Kindermusik training was completed through coursework offered in Denver, CO. She taught Kindermusik in her studio from 1995 until 2005. Mrs. Schneider really enjoyed teaching Kindermusik, however, after 10 years she wanted to put all her time and energy into her Suzuki program.

The initial Suzuki training, EEC and Book 1A and 1B, was completed in Snowmass, CO through the Suzuki Institute with Doris Koppleman and other Master teachers. She completed additional Suzuki coursework with Beverly Rest, in Boulder, CO.

Carol lives in Colorado Springs with her husband Randy, who retired from the Air Force Academy Band
in 2014. They have three grown children (and four very cute grandchildren),
three of whom are participating in her Suzuki program.
